Examples of my most popular workshops are shown below. Every workshop is tailored to meet the needs of the students. For more information concerning a specific workshop that you would enjoy and workshop dates, please contact me.

Workshop Plan

  • A photo of a Still Life will be provided.
  • The Still Life will also be set up so you can use a live subject as well as the photo.
  • There will be 3 demos by Wanda. Each demo will be followed by students working on their paintings.
  • Students can take their subject photo home to complete their painting.

What to Bring

  • Art materials
  • An 11 x 14 or a 16 x 20 canvas or hard board
  • Lunch
  • Artwork that you would like to have critiqued
    (2 pieces max.)

Additional Info:

  • Water & snacks will be provided
  • During lunch, we will critique the artwork that you brought

Are you Interested in painting an oil portrait? I generally present a 3-day workshop using the Grisaille method. From the subject in front of you, you will create an under painting using a monochromatic color tone to represent the values. You will then introduce color first with transparent glazes, and then with opaques. The great master artists created beautiful portraits using this technique to attain dimension and a feeling of warmth. To eliminate the intimidation of painting a live person, a doll is setup as shown in the photo (below).
