MY LIFE AS A PORTRAIT ARTIST began when I became a retoucher and oil painter for photographers where I learned the intimacies of the human face. I soon realized that it would be more satisfying to work directly with my subject, and I began painting oil portraits for families and corporate executives.

Whether it is a family portrait, a cherished pet, or a business leader, the mystery of the portrait unfolds as I develop a relationship with my subject. Accurately interpreting a subject’s looks and unique spirit as well as including a background that reflects their way of life allows me to characterize my subject’s appearance, personality, and lifestyle.
